Home News & Events RBLI visit Medway Green School
On Thursday 29th February, we had some visitors from the RBLI who came in to talk about their experiences in the military. Two veterans talked about the positive experiences of being in the army including the comradery with peers, opportunities to progress in a variety of careers and the food!
Year 9’s and 10’s were incredibly respectful and asked questions about what it would be like going into the army themselves including what it’s like going through basic training and if they ever met the Queen! (Which they all had – multiple times).
Maria, from the RBLI, then presented the school with our own Tommy as a thanks for raising so much money for the charity through our Santa Run and Pyjama Day. The money has been used to support vets who arrive at the village with just a black sack of clothes! The school have made a positive impact to the lives of the vets that live there which is a massive achievement.
Well done and thank you to everyone who has supported us and our events.
